When is my water bill due?

The due date is specified in the upper right section of your bill and is approximately 21 days after the day the bill was mailed

When is my water bill due?

Your water bill is past due one day after the due date.

Is there a penalty for a past due bill?

Yes. A $5 late fee will be assessed for past due bills.

Are payment extensions available?

Payment extensions may be made available depending on the customer’s circumstances. Please call the customer service center if you are interested in discussing a payment plan. If payments are not made in accordance with the agreed upon payment plan, service is subject to disconnection.

How is my water rate determined?

Rates are set based on the cost of delivering safe, reliable water which includes a number of factors such as: the expense of operating and maintaining the water system; the cost of the electricity used to pump the water from its source to homes and businesses; and the salaries of technicians, meter-readers, administrative personnel and others who help run the water utility.

What is the source of supply of Upper Michigan Water Company?

Our source of water is groundwater supplied through wells on the shores of the Keweenaw Peninsula of beautiful Lake Superior

What precautions should I take to prevent damage to pipes during freezing temperatures?

Make sure that the pipe coming into your home is not exposed to the elements. Most pipes are located underground. Once in your home, be sure the pipes are protected from any extreme temperatures at the point of entry. You can place insulation around or between where the pipe enters your home and the outside surface.

Does Upper Michigan Water Company put fluoride in the water?

Upper Michigan Water Company does not put fluoride in water unless mandated by local law.
